“If my parents wouldn’t have a correct source of livelihood, then I too would have been forced to live a deprived life. Therefore, correct source of livelihood should be paid utmost importance.”
– Ahmad Abdullah Shahbazi (Founder, Glad Bharat Foundation)
Sustainable means of livelihood is only possible way by providing skills for economic growth and inclusive development. GLAD BHARAT FOUNDATION leaves no stone unturned to address the livelihood issues of the marginalized sections of the society and provides them with skill development training in the section they have expertise in, some of which include broom making, bangle making, tailoring and others like them. The most crucial of all the four pillars of GLAD BHARAT FOUNDATION is that of livelihood which is implemented through GLAD BHARAT PATHSHALA. The mothers of children studying in the Pathshalaare provided with source of livelihood along with training through which they can manage a sustainable livelihood for themselves, their family and specially their children. This will eventually help in reduction of poverty which in turn will be effective in strengthening the other two pillars of the organization namely education and health. Mothers when having correct source of livelihood will definitely secure education for their children and those children after attaining education will contribute to the existing business or work being done by their parents in a proficient manner and that makes the difference
“Started in 2020 Lockdown”
Under the initiative “MAI BHI SAMARTH HU” 96 people who faced sudden unemployment during the lockdown in march 2019 were engaged in a mask, face shield, and PPE manufacturing activity. They were engaged after giving skill training of 5 days.
With this, they earned their Roti with pride and we got a mask, face shield, and PPE for distribution during the lockdown.
With the help of this team, we managed to distribute 22000+ handmade and N95 masks, 500+ PPE, 3000+ Faceshield among policemen, sanitation workers, bank, and society guards.
We aim to empower women through skill training for livelihood programs under the initiative “Mai Bhi Samarth Hu”.
Under the guidance of a trained and skilled team, we are struggling to connect rural women in mushroom cultivation activity.
With this Glad Bharat Foundation is aiming to stop 70% labor migration, especially women labor in the coming 3 years of the panchayat where this program is implemented.
