Suresh Kumar, an Acumen Fellow, IVLP Fellow, Co-Founder Lawyers for Children, fights against child labour and trafficking. He assists law enforcement agencies in rescuing the victims, prosecuting the traffickers and oppressive employers, and provides anti-trafficking trainings to police officials, judicial officers, prosecution officers, lawyers, SSB officials, government officials, child protection functionaries, NGO workers, youth and media persons, among others, and files Public Interest Litigations (PIL) for securing relief to the vulnerable children. He has trained over 9000 law enforcement personnel, over 12000 youth and 30000 community members over the past two decades on combating child trafficking. Currently, he has been rebuilding the lives of over 900 child trafficking survivors. Suresh spearheads the Child Trafficking Survivors Collective Movement in Bihar which has around 300 child trafficking survivors as members. He writes on the child protection issues for the leading newspapers in India. Suresh had studied laws at the Delhi University. He authored “Child Trafficking The Fight For Freedom”.
Rashmi has over a decade of experience in the social sector, starting as a volunteer at the Bhumi chapter in Kolkata. She has since worked with organizations like Blue Ribbon, Daan Utsav, and BMC, and initiated her capacity-building initiative, SattvaVarta. In her tenure with Goonj, she held diverse roles, including frontending interactions with corporate entities and high-net-worth individuals. Currently, she serves as a consultant managing urban relationships and fellowships. Rashmi is also pursuing a psychology course at Symbiosis College and studying Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra. Her commitment to holistic social well-being is evident in her interest in therapeutic practices. In addition to her professional life, Rashmi is a mother to two mature teenagers and takes delight in the companionship of her beloved pet dog, Pluto.
Glad Bharat Foundation was started by Ahmad Abdullah Shahbazi in 2019. Ahmad is an engineering graduate in electrical and electronics engineering. Before starting the organization, he worked as an electrical engineer.
Glad Bharat Foundation is a passion-driven startup. Growing up with a passionate father who prioritize quality education, Ahmad’s passion for self-reliance and societal development stemmed from his father’s vision for a self-reliant society. There was always an inclination that gradually became a passion. Finally after 6 years of working as an electrical engineer, in 2019 an engineer by education, chose to work to improve the lives of the marginalized.
Ahmad believes in learning and improving with every passing day, and since 2019 with his vision Glad Bharat Foundation has always improved to make the existing model of social initiatives more robust. Ahmad has 4+ years of experience in the development sector and has been awarded with “Sanjha Fellowship 2022-2023” by GOONJ. Ahmad also won the award of “City Champion 2023” in Healthcare Excellence by JOSH TALKS.
